Interim Head of People (Portugal, Hybrid)

As the Interim Head of People, you will play a key role in driving the strategic and operational initiatives for the People team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, while also fostering a culture of inclusion and collaboration. You will oversee vital People Operations, such as performance management, talent development, and compensation frameworksworking in partnership with the Chief People Officer (CPO) to support ongoing initiatives and report directly to our CEO. 

In your day-to-day work, you will incentivize teamwork by conducting regular team syncs to organize tasks, address blockers, and align on priorities. You will also work together on a clear plan to address anticipated changes while providing stability and direction for the team. This includes creating handover plans and building redundancy frameworks for essential topics, to ensure seamless operations and long-term success. 

In this position, you will inspire and motivate your team, driving engagement and productivity. Acting as a bridge between the People Team and our Leadership Team, you will align initiatives with tb.lx’s organizational goals. You will do so while maintaining a high-quality organizational structure, and people-centric culture. To be successful in this role, it is key that you feel comfortable providing guidance, mentoring your team and other colleagues, and finding innovative solutions to arising challenges, which will empower the team to thrive and deliver impactful results. 

Please note that this is a fixed-term, temporary contract. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:  

 

  • 5+ years of experience in teams and people management roles; 
  • Experience mentoring HR teams on best practices, providing guidance, and creating an open, supportive, and psychologically safe environment;
  • Experience structuring HR departments and driving process maturity within the people team’s scope;
  • A strong background in project management, with a proven ability to define priorities, manage workloads, and ensure timely delivery of team initiatives;
  • Expertise in managing operational HR topics such as People Experience, Compensation and Benefits, Performance Management, Legal and Compliance;
  • A demonstrated ability to facilitate communication and alignment between teams and senior leadership, ensuring that team goals are closely aligned with the overall company strategy and objectives;
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring diverse teams, nurturing individual growth, and managing high-performing teams;
  • An aptitude for managing feedback cycles, personal growth plans, and individual development initiatives;
  • A strong command of written and spoken English.

 

NICE-TO-HAVE: 

  • Working knowledge of employment frameworks and best practices for managing hybrid or remote teams;
  • Familiarity with tools and systems to streamline HR operations is a strong plus.
  • Experience leading Talent Acquisition strategies in the technology sector;
  • Experience with reporting and metrics analysis.
